Joy Community School, Zambia

Joy Community School is in a suburb, Kawama Compound, of Ndola in the north of Zambia.

It was built in 2004 by a visionary teacher and pastor, Pastor Latima Bupe. He sadly died from malaria in 2008 but the foundation that he has laid is being built upon by his daughter Chola together with a capable leadership team.

The school teaches approximately 250 local children, most of whom have lost one or both parents. They raise some of the running costs by various projects such as growing bananas and maize, and chicken production. The balance is raised by a charity established in 2009 and based in Surrey England, Joy Community School Zambia Trust.
